So I read Andy’s list of his albums of 2000 – 2009 and while it is a great list I basically thought that I could do better! It was also an excuse to spend an evening listening to awesome music and making a Spotify playlist.

So, my top 10 albums of 2000 – 2009:

I have seen more than half of these bands live this decade too, but that figure should probably be higher ;)

If you do one, track back to me and I will check it out.

My heart skips a beat whenever I listen to Antony & The Johnsons. Don’t think I’ve heard any of your other selections though! (and don’t have Spotify)

I’ll be checking some of these out tomorrow, cheers Dave.

I always find the Picadilly Record’s albums of the year a good way to pickup on things I missed, have been working my way through this years selection already.

Good list Dave, kudos for managing to get it down to just ten, it’s been a good decade. Was going to mention on twitter, I’ve become mildly obsessed with The Avett Brothers, you should check them out, they’re very good!

    Dave,

I was quite surprised to see The Streets on there, though I do agree it was a good album!

I’d have to put Florence And The Machine into my list, right with you on KoL and Maximo. St Thomas is a new one on me so I’ll check that one out!

Goldfrapps’ “Supernature” would be in mine. As would The Killers “Hot Fuss”.

    :)

@John – There had to be a streets album in there! My favourite individual tracks are from other albums but as a whole album I think that wins for me. I am surprised noone has balked at Scroobius Pip though :)

@Stuart – I will check out the Avett Brothers? Are they scouse? Aveettttt!!! :)

It was really hard to get it down to 10, I was going to have an honourable mentions section at the bottom but by the time I had finished it had 25 albums in it so I was harsh and just got rid ;)
